A NATION OF IMMIGRANTS: NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN NATIVISM 10:45 am – 11:45 am  **NEW EVENT**

As Americans and our political leaders once again wrestle with complicated and controversial issues revolving around immigration, looking to our past can help us better understand our present. A brief history of immigration to northeastern Pennsylvania, indeed, can help us to comprehend better the historical complexities of immigration and to place current debates into a deeper context. This workshop will begin to do just that, exploring our historical background in beginning to build a broader understanding of immigration, then and now.

LODGING
Rooms are available on campus in our McGowan Residence Hall for alumni, spouses,
guests and children. Rooms are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Single Occupancy: $30.00 per night
Double Occupancy: $25.00 per night
*Lodging for children under 16: $12.00 per night

HOTELS
If you prefer off-campus accommodations, there are several hotels within a reasonable
driving distance to campus. Several blocks of rooms will be held until May 9. For hotel
information, please contact the Alumni Office at (570) 674-6768 or alumni@misericordia.edu.

ANDERSON SPORTS AND HEALTH CENTER
Stay active throughout the weekend. The campus pool, racquetball courts, and weight
room are available throughout Alumni Weekend. The outdoor volleyball and basketball courts are also available. Sneakers are required for all play.

CAMPUS BOOKSTORE
The bookstore will be open throughout Alumni Weekend for purchases of those special MU souvenirs and gifts. Alumni receive a 10% discount and a raffle ticket with every purchase to win special Misericordia University gifts.

GOLF AND TEE TIMES
Would you like to reconnect on the golf course with a tee time? Several golf courses are located
within a reasonable driving distance to campus. We’d be happy to help you arrange a tee time.
